LESSON SEVEN - Reflection

Abstract

Students will reflect on the project from the perspective of their imaginary female character.

Essential Questions

• What was life like for women during WWI?
• What opportunities developed for women after the war efforts?

Materials

· Reflection Survey

· drawing paper

· markers/crayons/colored pencils

Setting the Purpose

• Lead a discussion with students about how they think women felt when the men came home.

Procedure

1. Tell students they are to imagine they are their imaginary female character and they are answering an interview for a news reporter.

a Their interview will be included with many others’ in next week’s newspaper.

b Pass out the reflective survey and tell students to put them in their portfolio when they have finished.

2. Finally, students will draw a picture of themselves doing one thing they did for the war efforts.

a This will be like a photograph to be included in their portfolio.

b The picture should be detailed, but can be wide open for students to use their imagination.
